Ballroom & Latin Classes

Ballroom & Latin Classes
Classes are a great way to Learn Ballroom Dancing in a
Social Environment. Whether you want to come along
With Friends for a Social Evening
To come Meet New People
A new way to Keep Fit
Or to Learn A New Skill.
When we start a New Dance we spend Two Weeks
concentrating on that Dance. We alternate between a
Ballroom and Latin American Dance. If we are Newcomers
to a group please come along to the First Week.
Which Class Should I Go To?
Ideal for those who are Completely New to Ballroom Dancing
During the Two Sessions (Per Dance) you will learn the most
Basic Steps of a particular dance. The steps covered in
Beginners Classes are of Bronze Medal Standard or Suitable
for Social Dancing. You will have an understanding of the
Rhythm of the dance and the Beats at which the dance is counted.
The very Basic Footwork and Technique will also be taught.
Not all of the Basic Steps will be covered in the First Two Weeks
This will happen when we revisit each dance.
We will follow up every Three Months with a Beginners Workshop.
Taking place on a Saturday Morning
Four Hours Revising Three Dances.
See " Beginners Workshop " Page.
For those who know the Basic Steps and want to learn more.
If you feel you are hooked and want to continue your
Ballroom Dancing Journey by learning more and challenging
yourself then the Improvers Class is the perfect class for you!
The Improvers Class covers steps of Silver Medal Standard
assuming a knowledge of the steps of Bronze Level
This class moves onto the next level covering steps
that are slightly more exciting and challenging.
In the Ballroom Classes you will understand how to execute a
combination of steps that will move around the floor.
Becoming more aware of the need of Forward Progression
and Correct Alignments to progress around the floor.
In the Latin Classes you will learn more Complex turns
and Faster moves!
Ballroom Dancing Experience Required.
An understanding of All Basic Ballroom Variations is
recommended before attending an Intermediate Level Class.
The steps covered in this class are of Gold Medal Standard
and Beyond. You will learn more Solo Variations in the
Latin Dances. Men will learn how to Lead and
Ladies to Follow more Complex Variations.
Now the men and ladies can be doing different steps to
one another therefore requiring a much stronger Lead and more awareness by the lady.
Timings now become more Challenging too!
